In the story I read called "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas" by Ursula Le Guin explains how a child is abandoned, nobody seems to care. The story relates to today's life. Lots of kids and adults are homeless and people like to block them out and act like they don't see them because they don't want to get involved. In today's life you'll see people living on the street and little kids will wonder why they're living there. Most people will say because "their drug addicts", "they lost their job" and etc. But nobody knows the truth. People don't care if it's not affecting themselves or their family. It's important to value justice because everyone has their rights and everybody deserve to have equal rights. Nobody should be token away and held hostage in a basement, like in the story. The child represents that he has to suffer for everyone else to be happy. The ones that walk away are the people that don't want nothing to do with it. This relates to today's life because people walk away if it doesn't concern them in any way.

In the ted talk I watched called "Want to be happy? Be Grateful" By David Steindl-Rast he explains some reason where happiness comes from. I agree with him with most of it. His main argument is that with happiness you got to be grateful. He begins to talk about when you're happy you're grateful as well. Which is almost true, once you're in the moment you can't take it for granted. As he says "Every moment is a given moment, its the most valuable moment to be given to us". What he is trying to say is that be grateful you're living that moment. David then begins to talk about the opportunities we get in life. Some people miss those happy opportunities in life because they're moving too fast and don't actually slow down and realize all the good we have. We need to build stop signs in our lives and take things slow. Who knows when you'll have that moment again in your life. I enjoyed the ted talk.

In the ted talk by Dan Gilbert “The surprising Science of Happiness”, asks us “Why are we happy?”. He begins to talk about simulations and how the human brain create two different types of happiness. Synthetic happiness is not the same quality as natural happiness. The differences between these two is that natural happiness is what we get when we get what we wanted, synthetic happiness is what we make when we don’t get what we wanted. It’s like when a family members gets you something that you didn’t really want but you don’t tell them anything because you don’t want it to hurt their feelings. So you act like you’re happy with what they gave you. That's exactly what humans do. People don’t have natural happiness. Natural happiness is not something you need to chase after. We fail to realize that synthetic happiness isn’t our real happiness. When you’re naturally happy you don’t even notice , you’re so caught up in the moment you forget all your worries.

HappinessHappiness is something all humans should have as a personality. Everyone deserves to be happy. To me this is important because lots of people go through many hard things in life and having negative people or things around them don’t help at all. They need to be where they can be happy and have positivity all around. Things that make me happy are sports (mainly soccer), family, and food. These things keeps me happy and not think about any negativity that is going on in life. For example when I’m playing soccer I don’t think about anything but the game. That makes me happy because it’s a sport I truly desire and see myself going pro in. The when it comes to my family, they just always know how to make me laugh even though we’re crazy it’s funny. Food just makes everybody happy, who doesn’t love to eat ? But my grandma was a role model to me before she passed. All she did was live her life with happiness and positivity. That’s exactly how I want to live life. Happiness is where you feel good about everything and you’re having nothing but smiles and laughter. The thing is happiness isn’t permanent, people will always have change of emotion and that’s fine. Just always look at the good things in life.

Lots of people get stereotyped on anything. Many people get stereotyped on how they dress, what they wear, what they look like, and etc. This usually happens when we give first impressions. Many people just assume right off the bat how the person will be, when most of the time it isn´t even like that. That's not how it should be but that's how it is. For example in past articles I read about they all have to do with stereotyping. In the article I read called ¨Tattoos tell my real story¨ by David Paul Strohecker explains his story about his tattoos. Since he has tattoos all over his body people usually assume his character. They think he's a drug addict, skinhead, or in a band because he's a white male when he's not even like that. His tattoos represent stories and what he believes in. ¨… I also have a bald eagle on my forearm to reflect my commitment to making this country a better place and a skull wearing a graduation cap to reflect my lifelong commitment to teaching¨(Strohecker). He has many more that represents something but the point is his tattoos tell a story. People just judge people when they first see them not knowing the story they have behind them.

My favorite place to be at is the soccer field. The soccer field gives me peace. I love just being able to play soccer. It gives me happiness when I'm stressed or just not in the mood. It brings out my inner happiness. I love being on soccer field even if I'm not playing. I love watching games. Just being able to play is an amazing feeling. As I grow and play soccer I hope I make it big. It´s something I want to be able to do my whole life. I have a lot of passion for the sport and the background behind it. Soccer is a sport that just connects with me ever since I was little. Once I knew and everyone else knew I had a talent in it I didn't want to stop playing. I'm still playing now. I play for club and I play for here on varsity. I made varsity freshman year. Another one of my favorite place is soccerloco. That's one of my favorite stores ever. I get all my stuff there. I get my cleats, tape, pre wrap, and more from there. Everything there is for soccer. They have lots of cool jackets, shirts, and jerseys. That store also gives me happiness because that's where I get my soccer supplies.

I don't even remember the time I tried something new. But if I were to try something new right now I would probably try to show more love to myself. I get my own self down, I want to be able to look in the mirror and be confident in myself and not see myself like how I do. That's something I'm actually going to start doing. By doing this I need to be dedicated to myself and focus on what I want to do. The ted talk I watched is actually very helpful. It's always nice to try new things and to get out our comfort zone. You want to be able to open up to new things. Not be plain and boring all the time. So hopefully once I start showing myself more love maybe i'll be able to try more new things. I want to be able to learn and experience. Something else I'm going to try new is not to stress out all the time and go with the flow. I overthink everything and I get myself in bad moods. It sucks because when I'm having a good time I always end up thinking about something and get myself down. That's something I am going to work on.
